For the second year in a row, a group of us spent the day on Saturday, April 29 in Hartman Park in Lyme, CT. Last year, there was a much smaller group but this year our group grew! We all arrived at 10am on a cool, crystal-clear day in southern CT. Hartman is about a 4 mile hike round trip but that figure is based on just hiking - not letterboxing. We ended up, according to Tony's GPS at about 5 miles by the end of the day - some 6.5 hours after we started.

The group was comprised of TeamGreenDragon, Silent Doug & Jennifer (Clueless,) Tony & Veronica, Deanne & Dave and Sue & I. These plans had been made for months and we were all pretty excited about spending the day together. The day ended up meeting and exceeding our expectations.

Right off the bat, it looked like my boxing radar was on track as I found our first box which also had a brand new HH in it. Within this mystery box was the Domedreamers' HH that commemorated their first year of letterboxing! Two firsts to start of the day!

Springtime at Hartman

After a great day on the trails at Hartman, we ended up at a local Italian restaurant (what else?) for some great pizza, grinders, beer and a rehash of the days events. Looks like there may be a Hartman 3 next year. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Tell me these two don't look like they're up to something!
