Happiness and a Wedding!

Sue and I were joined by Deanne, the Lazy Letterboxer; Dave, the Letterboxing Ham and Tony and Veronica on Saturday when we met at Hartman Park in Lyme, CT to hunt for some tupperware.

The day started out with a huge surprise - Veronica brought over a special HH that Tony had carved and asked Sue & I to place it somewhere, but she was very anxious for us to read the story about the HH in the logbook. It seems the previous week Tony had proposed to Veroica in a hot air balloon and this new HH was to commemorate that event! Sue & I were really touched that we were asked to send it afloat on it's maiden voyage. Our best to Tony & Veronica, who plan to tie the letterboxing knot in October of 2006.

If you haven't been to Hartman Park - you must. Jay's Happiness at Hartman is great fun. His Gnomelet the Mini-Elf series is some of the most beautiful and intricate carving we've seen to date. Hartman is a wonderful facility with windy, climby trails that are rock strewn and tree root covered. Hiking can be quite tiring - especially when you are crazy like we were - non-stop for 9 hours and 9 miles! Tony's GPS gave us an accurate reading of the trails covered, distance, speed, and the time we spent standing while stamping in! Pictures are available here.
