NY State's First Letterbox Alive and Well!
Thanks to a recent email from Solar and Binx, letting us know that NY's first letterbox, Sloop Cove, is alive and well as of the Memorial Day weekend when they last stamped into this box. Placed by Erik [The Viking] and Susan Davis in August of 1999, Solar told us that the box is in perfect shape defying it's 6 year old age! These are the early treasures that we are trying to preserve. Check out our First State Letterboxes page, visit one or two and let us know of it's condition. These boxes are an important part of Letterboxing History!
